SDC Diplomas
Examinations 2009
Candidates interested in taking the ASDC examinations in May 2009 are invited to register now. This year, examinations were held in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Canada.
The examination fees will be: registration fee £50.00 (payable on first entry to the examination only); fee per paper £40.00; dissertation £100.00. For further details contact the Society.
The range of qualifications provided by the Society is designed to offer members the opportunity to advance their scientific knowledge and vocational skills. These achievements are recognised by diplomas and certificates conferring the professional status of Chartered Colourist.
There are two categories of Chartered Colourist, plus a lower level qualification that still confers recognised status within the coloration industries.
Categories of Chartered Colourist
Fellowship (CCol FSDC) is conferred on senior members of the Society who have attained high standing in a branch of industry related to colour.
Associateship (CCol ASDC) is an honours degree-level qualification awarded to candidates who either (a) have passed the prescribed Society examinations, or (b) hold an equivalent recognised qualification; candidates also need to have the necessary occupational experience, and to have demonstrated their competence in a colour-related discipline.
Only suitably qualified, fully paid up Society members are eligible to use the designation 'Chartered Colourist' and to use the designatory letters 'CCol'.
Other Qualifications
Licentiateship (LSDC) is a pass-degree level qualification awarded on the basis of passing prescribed Society examinations or equivalent external examinations, together with appropriate professional experience.
