Certificate of Competence Course
Coloration and Shade Matching (Wool)
The Society organises a series of courses covering the practical aspects of database preparation, colour matching and correction.
Attendees who attain an appropriate level of expertise will qualify for the Society's Certificate of Competence in Coloration and Shade Matching, which is valid for three years.
The basic courses are organised on a modular basis. Each course covers:
- An introduction to quality control in the assessment of dyestuff strengths and pro-rata dyeing
- Principles of dyeing using the coloration of wool with acid dyes as a practical example
- Basic skills in colour matching to produce individual colour trees.
- Appreciation of the advantages and disadvantages of colour match prediction systems through practical use.
