Colour Fastness Testing of Textiles
The Society has taken another step in its pursuance of excellence with the organisation of a course to demonstrate Colour Fastness testing.
This one day course is led by professional experts from laboratories with NAMAS approval in colour fastness testing. They are aimed at individuals from companies, technologists and dedicated groups from specific companies. The courses provide an appreciation of the meaning and value of the correct procedures in colour fastness testing.
Each course covers:
- An introduction to British, European and International Standards for fastness testing and fabric stability
- Demonstration of the principles of testing, sampling and specimen preparation
- Demonstration of tests for:
- Light fastness
- Washing, water and perspiration fastness
- Rubbing fastness
- Dimensional stability of fabrics - Demonstration of the methods of mounting samples and of assessing results; comparison of instrumental and visual techniques of assessment.
