SDC Training Courses
The Society's training courses exist in three tiers to cater for differing training needs and to enable professional development.
The three levels of training are:
- Attendance Courses: these provide a basic introduction to fundamentals and can be tailored to the needs of the customer. There is no examination and trainees are given a certificate of attendance;
- Appreciation Courses: these are a natural progression from the attendance courses and incorporate some of the information from the more advanced competence training. These demonstration courses include a short examination and candidates who show that an appropriate level of understanding has been attained qualify for a certificate of appreciation;
- Competence Courses: these offer practical, 'hands on' training. The trainees need to demonstrate their ability to perform to the accepted best practice the tests and procedures that they have learnt.
