AGM & Awards Evening including the announcement of the Midlands Regional winner of the International Design Competition 2012

 

Loughborough University, Cope Auditorium, School of the Arts Edward Barnsley Building on the opposite side of Epinal Way to the main campus.

 

The AGM will be followed by two first-class speakers:

  • Alison Daykin, Award-winning designer, Alison Yule Textiles –What Shaped Me?
  • Katie Towle, Fabric and Sourcing Dept., Next plc – How Did I Get Here?

It promises to be a memorable evening which will culminate in the presentation of awards to the winners of the Midlands Region heat of the SDC International Design Competition 2012 and 50-Year Members of the Society.

 

A buffet will be served and entry is free

Cotton Green 2015: innovating Indian textiles for a sustainable future
The seminar's theme, "Cotton Green 2015" covers the environmental issues facing western India and the challenges facing the textile industry, especially with reference to cellulosic fibres. The intention is to introduce innovations, so that ultimately the carbon footprint of Indian textiles is reduced. The seminar takes the initiative beyond the restricted substance list and the various textile standards, to help create ecofriendly textiles.

Monthly Lecture (India): Trends 2012 - 2013 & Understanding Whites
The Society of Dyers & Colourists (India) is proud to announce the eleventh edition of its Monthly Lecture Series. This edition is jointly organized by the SDC along with B D Somani Institute of Art & Fashion Technology. This event is a twin-lecture program. The first lecture is by Ms Meher Castelino on "Trends 2012-2013". This is followed by the second lecture on "Understanding Whites" by Ms Lipika Nair. Please note that registration prior to the event is mandatory (due to limited seats).
