The seminar's theme, "Cotton Green 2015" covers the environmental issues facing western India and the challenges facing the textile industry, especially with reference to cellulosic fibres. The intention is to introduce innovations, so that ultimately the carbon footprint of Indian textiles is reduced. The seminar takes the initiative beyond the restricted substance list and the various textile standards, to help create ecofriendly textiles.

Attendees will get an opportunity to look at the benefits of getting it right, dye-house good practice, the role of the retailer and the future potential through technology and innovation.

The sessions will feature a keynote appearance from Mr Prakash Awade (Ex. Minister of Textile, Govt of Maharashtra).

An excellent line up of speakers for the seminar includes Mr Raj Varghese (on Meeting the challenge for ecological fabrics), Mr Errol Fernandes (on Sustainable pre-treatment technologies), Prof (Dr) V B Upadhye (on Advances in waste-water treatment - a review), & Prof Milind Inamdar (on Eco-friendly textile processes towards green environment).
