SDC Global Design Competition
In a new format, this competition runs in two parts, with each SDC region/affiliate running regional events and a grand final taking place with the winners from each heat. Full details of the competition and the winner for 2008 can be found on the Media page.
The 2009 competition has now been launched. The main criteria for entries, as previously, will be to demonstrate the creative, imaginative and original use of colour in either fashion or textiles. This year, the brief also incorporates an aspect of sustainable thinking within the original design and/or final design application. A full competition brief is available, along with information on the competition rules and how to enter. Documents outlining what the judges will be looking for, along with areas where sustainable thinking can be put in place with regards to textile/fashion design, are also available for download. The main course leader for each college should download an entry form, complete and submit to info@sdc.org.uk. Please note: The deadline for the receipt of entry forms has been extended to the end of February. Dates for regional judging are now being finalised and will be added to the relevant SDC regional page. For further information, please get in touch.
The grand final will be held in Goa, India at the end of June 2009 and the global winner will receive the SDC Colour Design Award 2009, with a cash prize of £1000, plus the Veronica Bell Trophy.
