SDC Competitions
New SDC Global Design Competition
Open to students in Australia/New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the UK and the United States, each SDC region/affiliate around the globe will organise its own competition based on a universal brief, with the winner of each heat going forward to a grand final in Bradford next April. Details can be found on the Media page, with a full brief available from the SDC downloads page. In the UK this competition is open to SDC Patron Colleges only; details of the Patron Supporter Scheme available here.
SDC Colour Innovation Award 2008
The Society has launched the SDC Colour Innovation Award 2008. Open to entries from science, technology, manufacturing and retail, contributions to colour in education, media and design are also welcomed; the deadline for entries is 31 January 2008. Details can be found on the Media page.
SDC Sponsors Sustainability Competition
The Society has sponsored a new international competition entitled 'A sustainable future for textiles', organised by the newly-formed RITE Group, to help students become more aware of the issues surrounding sustainable textiles. The sponsorship supported a number of students to attend the RITE Group conference held in London, 10 October 2007. Further details can be found on the Media page.
First SDC Colour & Textiles Award presented at Graduate Fashion Week 2007
New for 2007, the Society sponsored the SDC Colour & Textiles Award at Graduate Fashion Week which was judged during the four-day event in London on 3-6 June. SDC Colour in Design Competition Archive

Perkin Innovation Award 2006
The Society offered the 2006 Perkin Innovation Award to honour an individual, company or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution to colour in recent years. Details of the winner can be found on the Media page.
