SDC Competitions
SDC International Design Competition
In a new format, this competition runs in two parts, with each SDC region/affiliate running regional events and a grand final taking place with the winners from each heat. Full details of the competition and the winner for 2009 can be found on the Media page.
The 2010 competition has now been launched. The main criteria for entries, as previously, will be to demonstrate the creative, imaginative and original use of colour in either fashion or textiles. This year, the brief also incorporates a key aspect of social responsibility within the original design and/or written statement. A full competition brief is available to download, along with information on how to enter/competition rules. The main course leader for each college should download an entry form, complete and submit to marketing@sdc.org.uk. Please note: The deadline for the receipt of entry forms is the end of March. Dates for regional judging will be added to the relevant SDC regional page once finalised. For further information, please get in touch.
The grand final will be held in London, UK in October 2010 and the global winner will receive the SDC Colour Design Award 2010, with a cash prize of £1000, plus the Veronica Bell Trophy. The competition is open to undergraduates registered on fashion/textile design courses in the following countries: Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America [please note final list to be confirmed].
