Guidelines for Authors
Authors are asked to download and follow the guidelines provided for submission to Coloration Technology regarding the preparation and submission of material. Queries regarding the preparation of a manuscript for submission can be submitted via our Contact Us page.
Copyright Exclusive Licence Form
Authors of original articles printed in Coloration Technology must sign an exclusive licence form, which can be downloaded from this site. Further information about copyright and permissions request can be found on the author guidelines document.
By signing the exclusive licence form the copyright holder retains copyright in the article, as well as the right to reuse it as long as it is not sold or reproduced in full or in part for commercial purposes, without needing to seek permission from Blackwell Publishing or the Society.
Prior to acceptance, you must acknowledge that the article has been submitted to the journal. It won't prejudice acceptance if the unpublished article is shared with colleagues in either print or electronic form, or if it is posted on your personal website, your employer's website or repository or free public servers in your subject area.
After acceptance, provided that you give appropriate acknowledgement to Coloration Technology, the Society and Blackwell Publishing, and full bibliographic reference for the article when it is published, you may use the accepted version of the article in the format as originally submitted for publication in Coloration Technology (updated to include any amendments made after peer review). The following usages are acceptable:
- You may share print or electronic copies of the article with colleagues
- You may use all or part of the article and abstract, without revision or modification, in personal compilations or other publications of your own work
- You may use the article within your employer's institution or company for educational or research purposes, including use in course packs
- You may post an electronic version of the article on your own personal website, on your employer's website/repository and on free public servers in your subject area. (For some journals there is a requirement that posting of the article online does not take place until a specified minimum period has elapsed.) Electronic versions of the accepted article must include a link to the published version of the article together with the following text: 'The definitive version is available at www.blackwell-synergy.com'.
Please note that you are not permitted to post the Blackwell Publishing PDF version of the article online.
This information is taken from the Blackwell Publishing frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding copyright, which contains more useful information about copyright issues.
