Coloration Technology
The Society's flagship bimonthly journal is Coloration Technology. This now includes review papers previously published as a separate publication entitled Review of Progress in Coloration. More information about Coloration Technology is available on the journal's main page.
Colour: Design and Creativity
Colour: Design and Creativity is a new electronic journal that aims to become the premier forum for the publication of reports of research-based and practice-based work in colour- and design-related fields. Its philosophy is to act as a multidisciplinary journal addressing all aspects of colour and design, featuring articles that systematically describe evidence-based applications of colour in design, art, architecture, fashion, etc.
The target readership will include academics, students, designers, technologists, manufacturers, retailers, or indeed any profession where colour is an important part of the products or services concerned.
It is currently under development. More information will shortly be available.
Review of Progress in Coloration
Between the years 1969 and 2005 the Society published an annual review journal entitled Review of Progress in Coloration. It contained commissioned review papers on a wide range of subjects related to colour and coloration.
From 2006 Review of Progress in Coloration has been incorporated into the Society's flagship journal, Coloration Technology, combining the strengths of the two publications and allowing review papers to be delivered more frequently. The Review had a strong reputation for providing important, informative and insightful reviews on topics related to coloration and this tradition will continue in the new combined journal.
A full list of all the review papers published since 1969 is available. Review articles from 1980 are currently available on ColourClick by searching for a keyword from the title or author fields. These articles can be downloaded by SDC members. From 2006, review articles published Coloration Technology and members can access these by following link as instructed on the ColourClick site.
Although most of the review papers are commissioned specially, we still welcome ideas from other authors. If you have an idea for an article, please feel free to send us a brief synopsis which will then be considered by our Journals Committee.
